Mavitty (Lancer N) 9.54.9 8th (5) Ollie O'Donovan/Conor Bruton (Subaru WRC) 9.55.8 9th (20) Dickie Curran/Claire McCollum (Lancer N) 10.04.8 10th (7) Kevin Barrett/Barry Goodman (Subaru WRC) 10.10.4 A re-vamp of the results after stage 4 showed Kenny McKinstry still leading, Eugene Donnelly into 2nd place, Denis Biggerstaff 3rd, Patrick Snijers 4th, Maurice Gass 5th and Kevin Lynch 6th. On stage 5 there was yet another upheaval – McKinstry set fastest time and still leads with Eugene Donnelly just over a second slower. Biggerstaff held on to 3rd despite a scrappy enough run 8s slower than McKinstry. Snijers was fortunate to hold on to 4th having been off the road. Maurice Gass has crashed out, Kevin Lynch dropped 40s with 2 spins, so Trevor Moore comes into 6th. Kenny McKinstry commented after his run "I was cautious in some places, otherwise it went well". Patrick Snijers reported his off on the long left hander before the gates, the same place as Gwyndaf Evans slid off a few years ago. Ollie O’Donovan lost a couple of seconds when he was waved down at the scene of Gass’ accident, but still holds 8th place. Ollie by the way with a pain in his neck/shoulder, having wrenched himself earlier. Kevin Barrett has now come into the top 10 – and he joked "No more heroics" in reference to the smashed front guard of his Impreza WRC. Glenn Allen reckons there is no more to come out of his Escort WRC, the anti lag facility has gone and indeed he dropped 3s to Trevor Moore on that stage. Niall McShea continues to lead gpN, Niall saying at stage finish "Its good fun, I don’t want to make an eejit of myself!" The battle for best two wheel drive continues, with Keith White still ahead, but setting exactly the same time as Garry Jennings in that stage, 2.13.6. Obviously Garry is not 100 per cent following his hip dislocation from the water ski accident. Mark & Rory Doyle were lying well up in that class, they have retired with a broken driveshaft.
