Former Tarmac GpN Champion Seamus Leonard has obtained a new Impreza N10 and plans to compete on the 18/20th June Shell Donegal Rally.

The 14th August Lurgan Park Rally, celebrating its 25th Anniversary since Bertie Fisher won the first event in 1980, is having the start ramp in Lurgan's Main Street for the first time. Regulations for the Triton Showers backed Lurgan Rally were distributed last week and first entry, by return post, was Focus WRC driver Craig Bennett.

The North Armagh and Motorcycle and Car Club, who organise Lurgan Park, is also running a stage rally at Gosford Park on July 3rd.

Last weekend's Aghadowey Stages Rally was won by Kevin Lynch in his Subaru Impreza WRC from George Robinson in his Escort WRC. Kieran Shaw would have finished 3rd, but withdrew from the event. Therefore Brendan Connor (GpA Subaru slotted in to 3rd place. Cahal Rogers in his Evo7 was 4th and won Group N, and Seamus O'Connell 5th and first 2 wheel drive in his Escort.

Wexford Motor Club are running a single stage event this Saturday close to Wellington  Bridge in the south of the county. James Stafford heads the field away in  his rapid 1600cc Nova with Suirway Forklifts James Coleman at 2 in his Escort and Alan James Doherty at 3 in his class 13 Corsa.

This NI Championship resumes this Saturday with the Mourne Rally. Kevin Lynch leads the points table in his Impreza WRC on 47 points, with Kieran Shaw 2nd (Impreza WRC) on 44, James Gillen (Impreza 555) 3rd with 39 and Derek McGarrity (Impreza WRC) fourth on 33. 

Seamus Donnelly, who recently changed from a GpN Impreza to a Lancer, is 5th o/a in the NI series points and leads the Production category from Dickie Curran.
