John Gilleece Escort Cosworth to a convincing win on last
Sunday’s Oldcastle based Hellfire Stage Rally.
Dominic
Loughran in a Derrick Jobb hired GpN Lancer just edged Paul
McEnroe in a similar machine for runner up spot on the
Hellfire.
Limerick’s
Niall O’Connell won the inaugural Irish Peugeot 205
Challenge on the Hellfire, a storming last stage moving him
ahead of Adrian McBride, with Seamus O’Grady 3rd.
Niall
Maguire heads the list for this weekend’s Clare Rally, the
Monaghan man taking advantage of the non-championship Ennis
based event to clock up some miles in his newly acquired
Impreza WRC S9 in preparation for the 9th Oct.
Donegal Harvest. Patrick Elliott and Tim McNulty, also in
Impreza WRCs are seeded at 2 and 3.
London
based Clare man Gerard Moroney and co-driver Charlie McEnery
will debut their 98 WRC Impreza on the Clare Stages Rally. The
car was previously owned by Brian McCloskey. The latter has
acquired the ex Kankkunen Escort WRC from Rory O’Connor.
Cathal
Arthurs (Hyundai), Derrick Jobb and Tom Holton in Celicas,
Paddy White in his new Impreza S9, and Dessie Keenan (Peugeot)
are just some of the Irish drivers heading for this weekend’s
Golden Tulip Rally in Holland.
Ulster
National Rally winner Camillus Bradley (Escort), Kieran
Graffin (Escort WRC) and Dan McCartan (Celica GT4) are amongst
the top seeds for this Saturday’s Cookstown based Laferge
Cement Ireland Stages event.
