In an unprecedented
move by the rally Stewards, a revision of the results has been
considered. As a result of the incident involving car number 2
(Eugene Donnelly and Paul Kiely) on the final stage (SS14) on
today's rally, the Stewards of the Meeting have decided that in the
interests of the sport, the results have been declared final at the
end of stage 13.
Following a
further meeting that was attended by both Eugene Donnelly and Derek
McGarrity, both crews have at their own suggestion proposed and
agreed that they will share the title of 2004 Pirelli Tarmac
Championship. The championship managers have in principle
agreed to this generous gesture by both competitors.
