Richie Curran continues to stamp his authority on this Suirway Carrick on Suir Rally.  Richie stopped the clocks on 9.59 through stage 2, a pretty stunning performance. The closest time to him was Ray Breen's 10.14 and then Willie O'Dwyer on 10.18.  Curran commented when he arrived here at Suirway service.."There is a dry line developing through the stage but we are being careful at the junctions, as there is still the occasional slippy patch".
Ray Breen was only 7th fastest through stage 1, but made up a lot of lost time on stage 2, the Kel-Tech man telling us "It was the centre diff was wrong for the first stage, it feels a lot better now and my confidence is coming back".  Third placed Jimmy Lambert lost a few seconds on that 2nd run when he overshot a junction.  Willie O'Dwyer remarked on just how patchy and
slippy the stage was.  Millstreet's John Moynihan got caught out on a patch of cow mud and was in the ditch, which cost him quite a few seconds.  John Kearney was in a fit of temper when he reached stage finish having spent many miles sitting on the rear bumper of another car.

Roy White jumped from 10th to 7th with a fastest group N time - 3s quicker than Colm Doyle in theSubaru that time. White told us "I changed to a different tyre and softened the suspension a little, definitely felt it was going a lot better".  Kieran Molloy was 2nd in gpN but hhis Lancer suffered a front right puncture and dropped 3 minutes which puts him completely out of
the reckoning.

Just outside the leaderboard - Godfrey Kirby and Alan Treacy are tying on 22.14. David Percy has not appeared into service this time - unconfirmed reports suggest that he has banged a rear wheel on his Escort.  Enda O'Brien's silver Escort is also reportedly parked up in the stage.

In the Ford of Ireland Ka Challenge - John Carroll is first on the road, and his time of 11.17 beats his first stage time by 11s..John is leading the Kas today and indeed is looking very solid in the championship.  Declan Magee was 2nd in the Kas after the first stage with Barry Barrable 3rd.  Looking outside Carrick on Suir briefly - Tim McNulty was leading the Achill
Island event from David Armstrong by 8s after the first stage. Philip Shaw 3rd, Tommy Graham 4th. More later..BRIAN & LIZ PATTERSON
