West Cork Rally GPS Goodies & More…..

The West Cork Rally continues to be one of the most popular events on the rally calendar. Based in the very pretty West Cork town of Clonakilty and featuring some of the best stages in Ireland, all this ensures that the rally is top of the list for both competitors and fans alike. Add in the fact that it is St Patricks weekend, a town that serves some of the finest Guinness you can get and is home to the famous Clonakilty Black Pudding. What more could you want.
So as a treat we are making our Google Earth Files available for downloading. We have also included a gpx file of the stages that is very useful with a website like GPS Visualiser (Linked in the text at the bottom). We have embedded a Google Maps file as a bonus. As usual, enjoy the data and good luck to everyone involved in the rally this weekend and don’t forget to keep up to date with our RallyNews service which will go live as the rally starts.

Remember though, Please note that the Google Earth files are contained in a zip file. If you are using a computer, they will be downloaded to your downloads folder and can then be opened with google Earth. For mobile/iPhone/iPad users – you will be asked to “open in” an app like iFiles or Evernote etc. You must do this and then unzip the files. After this the files can be opened in Google Earth. It seems a long way around but it is worth it. It is assumed that you have installed both a file viewer & Google Earth beforehand. If not they are all available via the App Store and the Android Play Store.

Also included is a gpx file of the stages. Use a GPX viewer on you phone to view these files and if you are online with a PC, here is a link to a good site for viewing the files. GPS Visualiser
