The Mourne Rally returns as the next round of the McGrady Insurance NI Rally Championship having not run in 2017. Initial plans to run some closed roads in Co Meath have not materialised and COC Des O’Loan has devised a new route over both Slieve Gullion and Camlough. It has been almost four years since the rally used any of these tests, and the new combinations are a slightly different way of doing things. They say a rest is as good as a change, and when we had the chance to look at the stages, it reminded us of just how good and challenging the roads are.
