Through stage 11, the second run over Arigna, Derek McGarrity was again fastest by just over 2s from Nesbitt, with Boland a further 8 back, then MacHale 2 more back. McGaarrity commented on the way into service at Drumshanbo "The car is fine, no problems". His co driver Chris Patterson, just back from New Zealand Rally and still slightly jet lagged, said "We’re trying to go at a good steady pace, it’s hard to know where to push, the stages are very gravelly in places". Chris went on to recount about a lovely lady at the start of stage 10, Lough Bo, who produced large pots of tea and trays of sandwiches for the competitors are they awaited their start times! Second placed Andrew Nesbitt seemed to be running quite late on the road, but reported no real problems. His brake troubles from stage 10 had cleared up, he thought maybe he had been sitting with his foot on the brakes too long. He did delay a bit at the start of stage 11, thinking he could smell some petrol fumes. Austin MacHale said "The car seems alright now after that oil pipe came adrift, we’re being a bit cautious, but I’ve switched the response on again and everything seems OK". Eamonn Boland, a very solid 3rd at the minute, said "We’re trying hard enough, but everything is going well".

In Group N Roy White was fastest through stage 11, by just over a second from Shaun Gallagher, Roy saying "I’m happy enough". Seamus Leonard reckoned he had a real good run but was still 10s slower than Roy White. Seamus thinking that maybe the car is just not quick enough on the very fast stuff. Raymond Johnston is running just outside the top 10 and 5th in gpN, but he was slightly off the pace on 10 and 11, reckoned he picked the wrong tyres,, now looking over his shoulder at Aaron MacHale.

Cathal Rogers continues to lead the 2 wheel drive cars in his G3 Escort, and is lying well inside the top 10 now, just behind Jaye Jordan. Glyn Jones is up to 13th, has changed the suspension set up on his Impreza WRC, and is going slightly better than on day 1. BRIAN AND LIZ PATTERSON
