Kevin
Lynch continues to extend his lead over the rest of the field following a
fastest time in stage 3, the KPL driver seven seconds faster than both
Glenn Allen and Eugene Donnelly. Lynch was very composed as he waited to
go to service, Kevin reckoning he could be going quicker. Glenn Allen was
one second faster than Lynch and Donnelly in stage 4, Glenn still having
anti-lag problems "we are loosing power on the long straights".
Eugene Donnelly is much happier with his Enviorcare Celica’s handling
over the last two stages "we reconnected the anti-roll bar, the car
is absolutely great now but maybe we have lost too much time".
Denis
Biggerstaff was at a loss as to what is wrong with his Metro 6R4’s
engine. The Dromara driver thought it could be fuel pressure or a timing
problem but described the engine has "a trailer full of heffers",
the crew planning a big service here at Roemil Playing Fields. George
Robinson seems to be settling in to his new Escort WRC, while Kevin O’Kane
is very unhappy with his Impreza. Kieran Shaw has broken a rear brake
pipe on his KBB Doors Escort Cosworth but still holds a strong fourth
place while his business partner Brian McCloskey reports no problems in
his similar Escort.
The
GpN battle is really hotting up, Raymond Johnston now holds a 5 second
advantage over Sean Devine and Richard Hogg. Devine had differential
problems in stage three but got them sorted while Richard Hogg is
speeding up. Late news includes the retirement of James Murphy and
Francis Kenny whose Escort has broken its clutch at the end of stage 4,
their total 22.07 would have put them just off the leaderboard. Keith
White looks to be leading the 2wd battle by nine seconds from Mark
Barnett. More News Later …. Michael Patterson & Zoe Todd
