Kevin Lynch and co driver Martin McNicholl have dominated this Dogleap Rally. A year ago Kevin had never sat in a rally car, and now he has scored a most fabulous win on his local rally in only his first season. The KPL Stan Harper run Impreza never missed a beat and the Dungiven man topped his time sheets on almost every stage bar the last one were he could afford to cruise home, a quite impressive performance. Kevin was pretty much lost for words at the finish and summed it up when he said I am over the moon.

The battle of the day was between Glenn Allen and Eugene Donnelly. Glenn Allen has driven superbly all day despite his Escort suffering anti-lag problems and having a minor off in stage nine, taking second by eight seconds. Eugene Donnelly and Paddy Toner suffered this morning with handling difficulties, but really got on the pace this afternoon, but it was not quite enough, Eugene going home today with a fist full of N.I Championship points.

Richard Hogg and Mark Hanna have dominated GpN once again on their local event, six maximum scores from six events in the N.I Championship must give him an unassailable lead in the championship. Raymond Johnston put in an impressive performance today leading the category earlier on and a consistent performance this afternoon gives him one of his best results of the year.

Dermott Kelly spun twice on the final stage dropping back to 8th, but put in a strong performance today. Sean Devine was another driver having a great run, early leader of GpN, Sean suffered some centre diff problems dropping him those vital few seconds. Keith White is just off the leaderboard on a total of 56.41 and finishes top 2wd crew today.

Well done to Maiden MC and in particular Michael Carlin and his hard working crew on another great Dogleap Rally. Many thanks to all who have supported the Rally News service today.
