Gabriel, and then on stage 7, Mt. Kid, McKinstry was 8s faster. Banbridge man McKinstry told us at the passage control on the way into Skibbereen "Still going hard but the oil pressure is falling, and I'm keeping one eye on the dial". Barrable said "Pleased with the way the last few stages have gone, I feel like my confidence is back". Main change to the leaderboard through stages 6 and 7 was that Ollie O'Donovan dropped back, having been off the road for 6 minutes when his Impreza WRC centre differential stopped working, something to do with the electronic control unit. Ollie had been lying a solid 5th. Liam McCarthy reports no problems in 3rd. Patrick Elliott had a slight hiccup when he stalled on the start line of stage 7 but still set a very respectable time. David Armstrong dropped some time in 7 when his Escort WRC sustained a puncture. David, just outside the leaderboard now, on a total of 1.01.25. In Group N Willie Fannin is looking very solid in his series 9 Subaru. Kieran O'Callaghan had been leading earlier but was on unsuitable rubber over the last few stages and is dropping 1 or 2s per mile. Colm Murphy is unofficially into 3rd in gpN, despite a few problems with 3rd gear. Denis Cronin is the fastest 2 wheel drive and leads class 14. While James O'Sullivan leads cl.13 in his Mk2 Escort, the 023 Tiles man not that far away from the leaderboard and having a ball. As regards championships Steve Fleck is still on course for the Get Connected title. Liam McCarthy for the 023 Tiles series…just 1 stage to go now. On the Tempest Rally with 2 stages to go Chris Moore leads the Peugeot 205s by 6s from Sebastian Ling with Gareth McHale a further 7 back. In the Super 1600 Garry Jennings may have lost his lead to Leon Pesticcio, Garry has put his car off the road briefly. Overall as far as we know it is still Latvala from Austin McHale, with Roy White leading Group N. More news to follow.
