Red Kite – Update for Older Notes From Jan Event

UPDATE Friday 6th September

The only real changes on the rally are in Caio. In January it really was very muddy where there had been logging. Logging has now virtually all gone. Also the surface has improved dramatically. We have noted some cautions in the header at the start of the stage about the conditions and these no longer apply.

We have checked the stages and in general they are in much better condition than they were earlier in the year. There is some new gravel in stage 3 Caio after junction 34, but this should be no problem.

Good luck all competitors we hope you have a good and safe run.

Woodpecker Stages – Patterson Pacenotes Jemba Stage Trace

Earlier this evening we posted the Google Earth stage traces for the Sunset Rally in Northern Ireland. So we thought it was only fair to make the same available for the very popular Woodpecker Rally which starts Saturday morning in the pretty historic town of Ludlow. The rally utilises some great stages in the local woods and forests including the dauntingly fast Radnor Forest. A real treat of a rally. Enjoy the Google Earth view by clicking the link below.

Woodpecker GE Files

Remember though, Please note that the Google Earth files are contained in a zip file. If you are using a computer, they will be downloaded to your downloads folder and can then be opened with google Earth. For mobile/iPhone/iPad users – you will be asked to “open in” an app like iFiles or Evernote etc. You must do this and then unzip the files. After this the files can be opened in Google Earth. It seems a long way around but it is worth it. It is assumed that you have installed both a file viewer & Google Earth beforehand. If not they are all available via the App Store and the Android Play Store

Sunset Stages – Google Earth Stage Traces by Jemba & Patterson Pacenotes

Tonight is the annual running of Magherafelt Motor Club’s Sunset Rally. It is a small clubmans event set deep in the Sperrins Mountains in Northern Ireland. It is aways well supported and is also a very popular social event So as we have already made the Patterson Pacenotes and as the Jemba Pacenote System produces its own Google Earth trace, we once again have decided to share this information for your enjoyment. Good luck to everyone involved with the rally this tonight.

Neath Valley Stages – Google Earth Stage Trace

The RAC Historic Championship makes the trip to South Wales this weekend for the Neath Valley Stages. As we have mentioned before, the stages are in both of the classic Rheola and Margam Forest’s and this could be the only opportunity that competitors get to compete in these former Rally GB stages this year. So as we have already made the Patterson Pacenotes and as the Jemba Pacenote System produces its own Google Earth trace, we once again have decided to share this information for your enjoyment. Good luck to everyone involved with the rally this weekend.

Jim Walsh Cork Forestry 2013 – A Sample Video

The penultimate round of the Valvoline National Forestry Championship is nearly upon us. Traditionally, the Cork Motor Club run Jim Walsh Forestry rally is always one of the most popular events in the championship and this year should prove no exception. We made the Patterson Pacenotes earlier this week and are pleased to report that the stages are in great condition. Cork MC has put a lot of work into repairing the forest roads and without doubt, it has paid off handsomely. Fast and flowing well graded tracks make up most of the route and add in a bit of that famous Cork hospitality, anyone planning to be involved with the rally should have a great weekend. Below is a short video clip from the stages giving a fantastic insight into the quality of the roads. Enjoy!

Harry Flatters – Jemba Google Earth Stage Traces

The Harry Flatters Rally remains a firm favourite with the Tarmac exponents who just love the fast stages over the Epyntt ranges. The Jemba inertia Pacenote system that we use captures the speed of the Harry Flatters via it’s Google Earth stage trace. The speed is related via colour coding, with purple depicting the fastest sections and yellow the slowest. On the eve of the rally we would wish everyone a safe and enjoyable rally and here is a the download link for the Google Earth files.

Neath Valley Stages – Sample Video

The Neath Valley Stages has made the step up to the newly formed RAC Historic Championship, and to meet the challenge, the rally has also stepped up with a move into the bigger forests in the Neath Valley area. With stages in both of the classic Rheola and Margam Forest’s, this could be the only opportunity that competitors get to compete in these former Rally GB stages this year. It is well known that Wales Rally GB will move to more northern stages for 2013 at least, and almost certainly for the next couple of year’s as wind farm development is restricting the use of some of the more classic south Wales forests. Neath Valley Clerk of the Course, Den Golding has asked us to post a little sample video of this year’s stages, just to highlight how good the stages are. We cant disagree, it should prove to be a fantastic event for all concerned.

Donegal Rally – Day 3 – Sunday – Google Earth Traces

Occasionally we will provide our Google Earth Data Traces from our own recce while making the Event’s Patterson Route Notes.
This weekend we will publish each day’s stages of the Donegal International Rally the evening before it is due to run. Tonight we are publishing the third and final leg (Sunday). Hopefully it gives some of our more distant and not so distant viewers a more complete picture of the event’s route. This information is provided for viewing only and does not represent any official involvement from the rally. We hope you enjoy.Download the Google Earth FilesDonegal Day 3 GEDonegal-Day-3

Carlisle Stages – Google Earth Trace.

This is just short blog about the Carlisle Stages. It is a  brand new event, The DMACK Carlisle Stages, was always a bit a a risk for the RAC historic championship people to take. It seems to have worked out.

So while the Donegal Rally seems to be hogging the limelight, there is no reason why we cant get the Google Traces from the Patterson Pacenotes recce online.

So here we go. Click on this link

No picture because it is not required. Hopefully this small post will help many :-)
