News coming in from SS21: Gass fastest in International. PJ McDermott into 10th. Otherwise no change to Int. l/board. Declan Boyle got ahead of Manus Kelly to lead National by 1s.

Seamus Leonard was the fastest driver over stage 20, a repeat visit to the Glen stage. Rally leader Garry Jennings was 7s slower than Leonard and at stage finish said. “It’s just a matter of getting it home now”. Jennings has well over a minute advantage on Leonard. Derek McGarrity in 3rd was a further minute back so there was little possibility of any change in the order unless some of the cars or drivers had a problem. Darren Gass was still pushing hard and set a 2nd fastest time. Darren is trying to get as high up the leaderboard as possible to score Tarmac Championship points.

In the GpN category Sam Moffett was 7s faster than his younger brother Josh which means Sam leads GpN by 15s. Martin Doherty is 3rd. Pat Kirk was heading for 10th o/a but his Lancer stopped a couple of miles into the Glen stage and that allows young Kevin O’Connor to move into 10th and lead the Citroen Racing Trophy. Joe McGonigle is now 11th o/a in his Renault Clio and PJ McDermott 12th in his hired Lancer.

In the National Rally Declan Boyle is pushing hard to regain the lead from Manus Kelly and just .8 of a second separate the two. Declan bent the front suspension of his Escort on the Atlantic Drive stage and he found through Glen that the steering wheel was slightly crooked. This was knocking Declan off his stride a little. Ed O’Callaghan continues to lead class 13 but dropped from 4th to 6th on the overall leaderboard when he had to squeeze his Escort past the stranded O’Riordan Subaru on the Port Lake stage. As O’Callaghan was driving away from the incident he put his hand out to straighten his side mirror, lost concentration and went into a square left too fast hitting the side of a house. Kevin Bradley co driven by his Siobhan continues to lead cl.11 in his Escort and is up to 14th o/a. Kevin Gallagher had led the class yesterday but his car unfortunately went on fire.
