10th (29) Enda Haran/Patrick Corcoran (Escort) 34.14.2

Despite worries about his down on power engine Declan Boyle was fastest through stage 4 to increase his lead over Niall Maguire to 42s. James Stafford was solid in 3rd place, less than 2s slower than Maguire through the stage. Stafford leads class 14 and is best two wheel drive to date.

In Group N Sam Moffett has the slenderest of leads over his brother Josh. Shane Maguire is back in 11th place but is still shown as 3rd in GpN. We have no times in for Stephen Wright who was right in the GpN picture. Further news on GpN drivers is that Carrick-on-Shannon car dealer Sean Gallagher is 4th GpN and 17th o/a. Eugene Meegan has slipped back to 18th following gearbox problems with his Lancer. Paul Kiely is making one of his rare rally outings and is 19th o/a in his hired GpN Lancer. Paul is struggling to come to grips with the car after his long lay off.

In the Modified category Paddy Kiernan, who has Paul Sheridan co-driving this time, is really setting the roads alight in his Escort. Jonathan Pringle is 2nd best Escort but has had some problems with the brakes locking up. Jonathan tried a new pad for this rally but he is going to revert back to his original type. Raymond Conlon in the Corolla set a good time through stage 4 to hold 3rd in class 13.

Declan Gallagher has some intercom problems on stage 2 but was still right in the hunt amongst the Escorts, but there is no time in as yet for Starlet after stage 4. Most uncharacteristically Arthur Kierans has put his Escort tin the ditch quite close to where Donagh Kelly also retired. Enda Haran & Patrick Corcoran are another crew to have gone well over the last 2 stages and they have moved into the lead of class 12. Stephen McCann & Breen McNamee lead class 14 in the Lancer.

Roy White & James O`Brien have retired the Arbelos MG S2000. The power steering broke earlier and although they have a spare, engineer Tom Gahan was unable to fit it as there was a wrong connector for the replacement pump.
