Garry Jennings/Michael Moran are now dominating this Lurgan Park Rally, Garry again fastest. Through stage 5 Garry was almost 3s up on Kenny McKinstry. Kenny said. `Maybe I was a bit cautious over the gravel but still had a good run. Are you sure Garry hasn`t found a shortcut?` For sure there are no shortcuts. Garry told us that he has basically shifted up a gear. He went on to say. `I have only ever been here in a group N car. There is a lot of different between a 20 grand car and 200 grand car. I was being a bit cautious to start today`. There is still a huge battle for 3rd place. Kevin Kelleher really got his head down on that stage to set a 3rd fastest time and hold on to his 3rd place. Breathing down his neck now is Jonny Leonard who is still driving the wheels off his Lancer and was 4th fastest through the stage to reinforce his 5th place o/a. Jonny is now closing in on Stuart Biggerstaff, the Metro 6R4 man certainly not hanging about either.

Andrew Mullen now leads group N having staged a great recovery following his collision with a chicane early on. Darren McKelvey has gradually speeded up throughout the day to hold 2nd GpN just 2s behind Mullen. Marc Johnston is 3rd despite his SS4 overshoot. Wesley Patterson was a bit ragged through SS5 but continues to hold the mantle of best Escort. Frank Kelly was quickest of the Mk2 Escorts through stage 5 and certainly has not given up the fight just yet. Trevor Wilson co driven by Sarah Falloon in his Mk1 Escort has turned in a couple of cracking times in stages 4 and 5 to move up to 3rd in class 2B with James Kennedy in 11th o/a and leading that class. Alastair Cochrane is 2nd in the class.
