Following one of the slickest Lurgan Park Rallies ever Garry Jennings and his co-driver Michael Moran came through to a very decisive, almost 12s victory over Kenny McKinstry/Claire Gamble, both in Subarus. West Cork man Kevin Kelleher and his co driver Martin Brady made it a Subaru top 3. Kelleher said. `First time here competing, not too bad!`. When Garry Jennings brought his Impreza S12B into the finish control he said. `Kenny made me work for the win. It was our first time on gravel with this car and we really enjoyed the day. It was a good battle, great organisation.` Kenny said. `I loved the car today, this is some machine. I was very wary on gravel initially but I would like now to take it to the Bushwhacker.`

Fermanagh`s Jonny Leonard, co-driven by his mum Geraldine, drove brilliantly through the afternoon stages to come into 4th in his GpA Lancer. Jonny said. `I made a sleepy start. I will know for again`. One of the happiest people in the Park after the final stage was Emma McKinstry. Co-driven by her partner Kenny Hull she pipped Derek McGeehan at the post for 5th place. Considering Emma has done very little rallying this year it was quite an achievement. She was 3rd quickest on the final stage. Derek McGeehan rounded off the top 6 in his Mini WRC. Co-driven by Laurie Smyth Derek said. `It was a great day`s craic. We made no mistakes and it was very enjoyable`.

Wesley Patterson and his co driver Russell Harrold finish with the honour of best Escort, just over 3s up on Frank Kelly/Peter Dunlop at the finish. Having been up as high as 4th place Stuart Biggerstaff struggled with the throttle on his Metro 6R4, but with the help of Anthony Nestor brought the car home in 9th place. Keith White/David Lyness drove a blinder of a rally to come into 10th in the Mk1 Escort that was pretty special. James & Rebecca Kennedy slipped to 11th o/a at the end but still won the 2 litre category in their Escort. Ray Brammer/Gary McElhinney overcame low turbo boost in the Subaru and set some good times this afternoon to move up to 12th. Mark Massey/Damien McDermott won GpN from Andrew Mullen/Elaine Doherty in a similar Lancer. Marc Johnston/Richard Bell were 3rd in the category. Stephen Mawhinney won class 6 in his Lotus Sunbeam. Alan Smyth won cl.2A in his Citroen. Ian Millar won cl.7 in his Escort.

Finally for now our thanks to everyone who helped with our RallyNews service and well done to William Fullerton, Barry Taggart and all the organising team of the North Armagh Motor Club. Another good job well done.
