In the Tarmac Championship category of the event Garry Jennings was fastest through stage 2 and then Sam Moffett was quickest on stage 3. Derek McGarrity still leads by 5s from Garry with Sam a further 5s back. Conditions on the stages are still difficult with very wet patches and then other places not too bad. Garry Jennings said. `I picked a medium slick tyre but didn`t expect rain like that, it was treacherous`. Sam Moffett echoed those thoughts when he said. `We have had a few moments. Tyre choice is a lottery.` Derek McGarrity`s co driver James McKee told us. `We stalled at a stage 2 hairpin and did not commit to the fast stuff. It is so slippy but the Focus is working well.` Donagh Kelly`s co driver Kevin Flanagan echoed that when he said. `We had a few absolute heart stopping moments`.

In Group N the Production category Tarmac C/ship leader Stephen Wright edged ahead of Josh Moffett through stages 2 and 3. Stephen said. `We had a slightly misted up screen on the first stage and we struggled for grip as well. The tyres were better through stages 2 and 3.` Willie Mavitty is 3rd GpN and he was slowed, as were several other drives, when they came across a tractor in stage 2. Rory Byrne from Modern Tyres has stopped in stage 3, reportedly because of a damaged wheel etc. on his Evo 10.

On the BRC Rally NI Tom Cave continues to lead while young Jon Armstrong is amazing everyone with his 2nd place in his Fiesta R2. A big disappointment for the home Fermanagh fans is that Alistair Fisher`s Fiesta went off the road and got stuck. Callum Black was running behind Alistair and he said. `He was so unlucky. It was a downhill fast right tightened into a square right and it was the slippiest spot in the stage. Alistair`s car went straight off the road. We were nearly off with him`. Tom Cave said at stage finish. `We are trying to keep it neat. Happy to have made a strong start.` BRC Championship leader Jukka Korhonen said. `It is not so easy for me here`. Norwegian driver Steve Rokland said. `This is my first time on wet asphalt. It is difficult`. Jonny Greer was slowed by a broken intercom on his Citroen. James Grint has put his Citroen in the ditch and can`t get out. Perhaps he should call on his brother Rupert to come and wave his magic wand!
