Garry Jennings seemed to have a touch of brain fade when he left service and tackled the spectator stage here at St. Angelo. Garry bounced his Subaru off the tyres and off some fencing doing some bodywork damage, including knocking the rear spoiler off. He managed to get the car taped up and with Rory Kennedy steadying him up on the pace notes Garry was fastest through the Topped Mountain stage, nearly 50s quicker than his first trip over it this morning. This was enough for Garry to displace Derek McGarrity at the front. The latter`s Focus WRC stalled on the start line of the stage and Derek had to go through the whole re-start procedure to get going. His time was still good but not as good as Jennings. Sam Moffett also had a good run through the stage, but the Monaghan man is in trouble with his Subaru gearbox. The car seems to be bypassing 4th and 6th and revving out in 5th. Donagh Kelly was in subdued form but still held 4th and joked. `We need a touch of the jump leads`. Josh Moffett survived a major spin in his Lancer but still took several seconds of Stephen Wright in the battle for Group N, but Stephen still has his nose in front.

In the BRC Ulster Rally Tom Cave was fastest but by just over 1s from Korhonen with Jon Armstrong 3rd fastest in his R2 Fiesta. Korhonen started the day in 11th place and it took him some miles to get his head around the wet Irish tarmac roads. With the roads drying now he is visibly speeding up. Cave reckons he picked too soft a compound tyre and was only 9s faster than his first run over the stage. Mark Donnelly was another who reckoned he picked the wrong tyres for the drying conditions. Joe McGonigle changed the crank sensor, coil and spark plugs on his R3 Clio and it seems to be running a lot cleaner. Daniel McKenna feels that the mechanics sorted his Fiesta engine at service but now he is hearing a noise in the gearbox. Daniel also had a very big moment at a crest into a K right. Jon Armstrong picked an intermediate tyre for this loop. He thinks they will work well on the wet patches that will compensate for what he loses on the dry sections.

In the Historic category Ryan Barrett was setting the pace from Rob Smith with Gareth James 3rd. While in the Challenge section Ross Hunter led from Dean Raftery.
