Through this morning`s 3 streaming wet stages Desi Henry was fastest. Co-driven by Liam Moynihan Desi picked an intermediate type tyre that just about coped with soaking roads. Derek McGarrity had fitted slick dry weather tyres to his Subaru and really struggled. Derek told us. `The car was aquaplaning everywhere`. Desi Henry commented. `We had no big issues. Everything is OK but the standing water was a joke`. Camillus Bradley said about the conditions. `That would tighten you`. Kieron Graffin recounted. `It was real treacherous, rivers running down the road`. So, we have got the picture – it was wet!

One driver caught out was Greg McCormack whose Escort went into the ditch in stage 2 and held up the following Alistair Cochrane for quite a few seconds. Tom Curley is still struggling to come to grips with his newly acquired Impreza WRC and he said. `Just can`t figure out all the buttons!`

Shane McGirr is uncharacteristically well down the order and told us that the wipers of his Starlet are lifting off the screen when he is in 4th gear or beyond, on top of which he is getting no grip. Geoff McMahon has been going well in his GpN Lancer but did lose a few seconds in stage 2, An Carn, with a big moment. Ian Millar & Tommy Speers were having intercom problems in their Escort. Kevin Bradley recorded a very fast time on the opening stage and has since settled but is still holding a strong top 10 position.

Some times after stage 2 show Andrew Wilson leading class 4 in his Starlet and Alistair Cochrane who leads the 2wd category in the McGrady NI C/ship is leading class 6. Drivers just outside the top 10 included Fintan McGrady (Escort): Liam McFall (Lancer): Jonny Morrow in the Corolla and Gary Cairns in the GpN Lancer. Young Kevin Devine in the class 4 Fiesta with Francis Regan co-driving reportedly set a very quick time on the opening stage, but as he is seeded further back we do not have his times as yet.
