Donegal crew Declan & Brian Boyle will carry a 37s leading advantage over Monaghan crew Sam Moffett/James O`Reilly in their Fiesta WRC. As soon as Declan Boyle finished that stage 13 he pulled his Subaru WRC over to the side of the road to have a quick check as the car seemed to be suffering some fuel starvation problems, although he was fastest through the stage.

The late afternoon brought many dramas. Stage 12 was interrupted when Manus Kelly/Donal Barrett crashed their Escort. It is believed that a spectator was injured in the incident but not in a life-threatening manner. In a separate incident an elderly bystander fell off a wall and he needed medical attention. There were rescue and medical personnel seemingly in abundance sorting the problems out. Eventually stage 13 got under way although a bit late, and it was decided not to run stage 14. To complicate matters even further, initially just 2 cars, Declan Boyle in the Subaru and Sam Moffett in the Fiesta got through stage 13 unscathed. Darren Gass had crashed his Subaru on a tight 5 left 5 right kink. Darren related afterwards that the car spun up in the air and when it landed was blocking the road. There was little damage just a broken rim and disc. Eventually he was able to drive the car out. But Darren was 16m in the stage and the following cars all had to stop. They received a `scratch` time.

Latest news we have on the Historic Rally is that Seamus O`Connell/Mac Kierans (Escort) have 2m25s lead over Andy Johnson/Jim McSherry in their Vauxhall Chevette HSR. Aidan O`Connor/Ian Regan in the Mk1 Escort are 3rd. John Coyne/Christy Farrell are 4th in their Sunbeam Lotus.
