With yet another fastest time Garry Jennings now leads by 10s from Derek McGarrity with fellow Mini WRC driver Derek McGeehan a further 18s back. Neither Jennings nor McGarrity is under any real pressure from behind but McGeehan is looking over his shoulder at the hard charging Kenny McKinstry. Garry Jennings commented again that he is concentrating on keeping his driving clean and tidy. McGarrity said his Mini WRC will not go any harder. Derek McGeehan said he had a good run with no problems. Kenny McKinstry reported that at last his Subaru was working properly. By coincidence Emma McKinstry said that that last stage was her best one yet, that the mechanics had changed the turbo pack in her Subaru and it had transformed it. Kevin Barrett turned in a really good time, just a second down on McKinstry and McGarrity, Kevin said he is more relaxed now that he is more familiar with the stages.

Jonny Leonard, who has his mother Geraldine co-driving today, is still disappointed in his times. He reckons that because he has not been in the rally car for a while he is just a bit rusty and he is down in 12th place at the moment. Fastest group N contender through stage 6 was Marc Johnston/Richard Bell in their Lancer. Pat O`Connell/Kieran Connell still lead the GpN category. Mark Massey lost a few seconds when his Lancer broke a driveshaft. Raymond Johnston continues to lead cl.8 in the Historics from Drew Wylie in a similar Escort. When Drew was coming to the end of stage 5 his glasses fell down from the sun visor – he had forgotten to put them on! Stephen Mawhinney still leads the Historics class 7 from Raymond Nelson. Wesley Patterson still dominates the 2 wd category although Frank Kelly was within 0.3 of a second of his time through stage 6, but Frank said he was at angles he did not want to be at.
