10th (10) Thomas Fitzmaurice/Fionn Foley (Lancer N) 22.31
Matthew Wilson/Scott Martin are just outside the top 10 in the new Fiesta on 22.44.

Patrick Elliott said when he came into service. “We are trying very hard. Niall Maguire and Kevin Barrett reported no problems although they were both querying Elliott’s time for stage 3. Garry Jennings was fastest of the GpN drivers. Kevin Kelleher had a great time through the 2nd stage in his Lancer but slid wide on a square corner in stage 3 and knocked the rear of his car out of alignment. Eamonn Daly went off the road in stage 3 and Brian O’Mahony stopped in stage 2 with gearbox trouble on this Clio.

Tomas Davies crashed in stage 2 and blocked the road for the following drivers. This went against the interests of Matthew Wilson slightly as he recorded 8.11 for the stage, but drivers such as Marty McCormack and Andrew Hockridge in their Citroens were a scratch time of 7.55. Matthew is having the ride height of his new Fiesta raised here at service and a broken passenger’s door mirror is fair evidence they he is trying very hard. Thomas Fitzmaurice did lead GpN in the National series for the first part of the season but in his own words: “It has gone tits up for the last few rallies and its down to me”.

John Somers is struggling for grip in his Celica. Andrew Hockridge had a spin and stall in stage 3 in his Citroen. Marty McCormack is having a great run in his Citroen C2 Max. Tom Walster was running slicks on his Clio this morning and found the suspension set up good in preparation for the Ulster. Andrew Bushe has started to get into the groove in his Saxo and had a decent time through stage 3. Mike Quinn continues to lead the 2wd category. Some other Escort times include: Arthur Kierans 22.45: Arthur changed his Escort gearing for the ALMC and it doesn’t quite suit here. Jim McKenna is having his first outing since his Loughgall accident and is having a bit of hesitancy on the very fast corners but still has good times, total 22.43.
