HISTORICS/POST HISTORICS:
Through the Roughty River and Sheen River tests Ray Cunningham in his Mini Cooper was fastest of the Historics from Phillip Wylie in his MGB. At the end of the Roughty River stage Ray reported all well with the car and said it was quite a tough stage. Along with the other top drivers that we spoke to Ray was very unhappy that they hadn’t got their stage time at stage finish. The times have since appeared from the computer. Ian Chadwick had been lying 6th in the Historics but lost almost 14m in stage 3. Aaron Tracey had been up to 4th but his Mini Cooper developed a noise in the differential and he has since pulled out. In the Post Historics Sean Lockyear moved into the lead on Roughty River when Ed Murphy’s Escort developed a problem. Ray Hilliard has speeded up and moved from 5th to 3rd but is still losing a few seconds to Denis Moynihan, these 2 battling it out for the Thomond Crystal Southern 4 Championship.
