The above leaderboard is a combination of both International and National times purely as a comparison. We will revert to a split leaderboard on next RallyNews.

At the end of the 12.55km Grovehall stage Tim McNulty commented. “A good run, no problems”. Alastair Fisher, his stage 9 intercom problems resolved, also had a good run. Daragh O’Riordan was 2nd fastest in the stage so the Cork man is really starting to go well. Derek McGarrity on the other hand was fairly downhearted and reported that his Subaru 5th gear had failed and he reckoned it would be a struggle to get the car through the next 2 stages to service.

Daniel McKenna was 23s faster than his time through that Grovehall stage this morning and the Monaghan man continues to lead the National category. David Bogie is running in the National category but under Super Rally rules, and David was 6s faster than Daniel through stage 10. The young Scotsman reported that a drive shaft issue that he had with the Metro has now been sorted. Eugene Ferry dro0ped some time in that stage. Eugene had been 5th in the Nationals but overshot a junction and then on the following 6L 6R overshot again and the rear of the car hit a bank. There was no big damage to the Escort but it all cost time. Alan Ring was first on the scene of Ferry’s dramas and he possibly lost a few seconds as a result.

Seamus Heron has turned up the anti lag system in the McGeehan Corolla WRC and is finding a bit of extra oomph which is reflected in his times. In the Citroen Racing Trophy after stage 9 Donegal man Joe McGonigle had moved into 2nd place behind fellow Donegal man Scott McElhinney, but over a minute in arrears at the moment. Kieran Daly is 3rd Citroen and Graham Colfer 4th. Liam McMullan in his Civic now leads Cl.1 ahead of Dara Leonard (Fiesta). Dara’s brother Declan also in a Fiesta is 3rd in that class. Paddy Walker/Gerard Mullan lead Cl.5 in their Fiesta. Kevin & Gavin Gallagher in the little MG1500 are going very well in class 11 and have a big lead over Damien McAuley/Sean McMacken in their Corolla.

We reported on our last RallyNews that Paul & Gavin Harris had put their Escort off the road in SS9. They did manage to get going but lost a lot of time. The accident seems to have happened because Paul forgot to switch the intercom on and got caught out by a jump near the stage start. Conor Harvey seems to have the power steering issue solved on his Escort and leads cl.13 from Samuel Kelso with Frank Kelly 3rd.
