Donegal Rally – Day 2 – Google Earth Files

Occasionally we will provide our Google Earth Data Traces from our own recce while making the Event’s Patterson Route Notes.
This weekend we will publish each day’s stages of the Donegal International Rally the evening before it is due to run. Tonight we are publishing the second leg (Saturday). Hopefully it gives some of our more distant and not so distant viewers a more complete picture of the event’s route. This information is provided for viewing only and does not represent any official involvement from the rally. We hope you enjoy.Download the Google Earth Files.Donegal Day 2 GE Donegal-Day-2
Please note that the Google Earth files are contained in a zip file. If you are using a computer, they will be downloaded to your downloads folder and can then be opened with google Earth. For mobile/iPhone/iPad users – you will be asked to “open in” an app like iFiles or Evernote etc. You must do this and then unzip the files. After this the files can be opened in Google Earth. It seems a long way around but it is worth it. It is assumed that you have installed both a file viewer & Google Earth beforehand. If not they are all available via the App Store and the Android Play Store

Donegal Rally – 2013 Promotional Video by RPM

The RPM team have been working hard this week trawling their own archives for the 2013 Donegal promotional video. Once again they have delivered a fantastic little compilation highlighting the rich history the rally has (A bit like RPM). Sit back, watch, enjoy. We did, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done RPM.

Sean Conlon Memorial Rally – A Short Video Sample.

It is almost the half way point in the Valvoline Irish National Forestry Championship, and next week we head into the depth’s of Tipperary for the Sean Conlon Memorial Rally. Recent changes have seen the rally move from it’s well established early spring date to the summer month of June. This is almost certainly the biggest change, and other than that, as the rally has a good base of forests to choose from, and once again they have chosen a good route with lots of intrest, and a good challenge too boot. As with the other championship rounds this year, we have produced a short sample video to give an idea of the conditions in the forests. Hopefully, it is of intrest.

Patterson Pacenotes crews have dominated the championship so far this season, winning every event and proving once again that the Patterson Pacenote package is unrivalled in its quality and professionalism.  Notes and Safety DVD’s are currently being despatched and can be purchased on line @ this link

The Donegal Rally Is Here – A Wee Tune

It’s now the first week of June and the build up for the Donegal Rally is in full swing. The Rally had it’s press launch at Hegarty’s Garage in Letterkenny this week and we have covered that with a more formal approach in this week’s Irish Notes. On a lighter note, we couldn’t ignore the efforts of ‘The Rally Band’ – aka ‘Off the Kuff’ – with their marvellous little musical tribute to the Donegal Rally. Without giving too much away, have a good look and listen as the band tells its own story of the Donegal Rally, helped along with some “wanna be” rock stars, dancers and players! Only in Donegal – Fantastic.

Here are the full details and credits of the people behind this stroke of Donegal Mastery.

Circuit of Munster – A Sample Video of the Limerick Racecourse Stage

The forthcoming Circuit of Munster organisers have been working tirelessly on this year’s rally. As a non Dunlop National Championship event this year, the Motorclub have picked a great route that is, on the one hand, very compact, but very also a real challenge. The main body of the rally will be two stages in a very compact loop with the starts and finish of both stages within just a short distance of each other. The third stage in the leg will be at Limerick Racecourse.

A few year’s ago the club ran a rally sprint at the venue but it was more of a gravel based event then. We did RallyNews there and if it was interesting to look back at our bulletins then. The online service was very much in its infancy in 2001 but it still gives all the information and it was live even then. Oh how we struggled with mobile phone data connections and all the technicalities of working in remote locations. Anyway, here is a link to the 2001 Greenmount Rally Sprint – Click Here.

Twelve years on and the place has been transformed from the point of view of the rally stage. The stage is now full asphalt and will give competitors a real opportunity to showcase themselves as the stage winds around the perimeter road and finishes right next to the racecourse Grandstand. The venue is blessed with some fantastic facilities and it should prove be a great base for the 2013 Circuit of Munster. Above is a short video when we made the Patterson Pacenotes for the rally and it includes the whole of the Greenmount Racecourse stage plus a little sample from the other stages. We hope you enjoy.

Swansea Bay Rally. A Short Sample Video

This is, once more, one of our short but sweet little blogs.

The Swansea Bay Rally was once, one of the great national rally’s, and in recent year’s it has fallen into decline.

Bad weather, a reduction in entries, the collapse of ANCRO and a whole load of other factors have led to the Swansea Bay organisers having to reflect on their past but accepting the future. So they have rejigged everything and have delivered a really good club/national B event.

The Walters Arena project is right on their doorstep, and with some skilful management, the experienced heads have put together a rally with a really great format, good stages, and a great compact feel to you the rally.

It should be a great little rally.

We have put together a little video to check out before.

Patterson Pacenotes – Digital Downloads

This is just a very brief post to confirm that the Patterson Pacenotes Digital Downloads service is now live on-line in test/beta format.

Due to the increasing overseas demand for portable digital formats for the Patterson Pacenotes DVD, it was a logical step forward to offer the same service to all our valued clients.

Over the last few months we have developed and tested various formats and interfaces and have provisionally came to a starting format. It is very much work in progress, and it will be fine tuned as time moves on.

To start with, we will offer MP4 versions of our DVD. In our opinion, it is the most versatile format. It is Apple native and is also universally used within the PC and Android business. It is unlikely that this format will change as it primarily iPad/iPhone based, and that is the most difficult to cater for.

Patterson Pacenotes themselves (ie The Printed Notes) in digital format are not yet available for direct online purchase. While we have the ability to do it, we will continue to supply in a bespoke environment only. In other words, you will have to contact us directly to make any arrangements. In the future, it will become available, but with some restrictions.

Please feel free to leave a comment or suggestion. We know that most people looking at this are already Patterson Pacenote customers, and we would love your feedback and thoughts. You only have to register to give us your thoughts, or email us directly.
